Proper bed leveling is also crucial.
To make a brick work perfectly I play with extrusion multiplier e.g. in Simpify 3D:
-Process1 Extrusion multiplier 0.93 h= (0 to 8.36 mm)
-Process2 Extrusion multiplier 1.05 h= (8.36 to 9.60 mm)
-Process3 Extrusion multiplier 0.92 h= (9.60 to top)
Of course, if you have a 3k$ machine don't need such adjustments =)
