This marble sculpture by Benjamin Paul Akers titled The Dead Pearl Diver depicts a male figure lying prone on a raised surface, arms outstretched above his head, legs dangling over the surface, feet crossed at the ankle and his groin area covered by a piece of fishnet. A piece of seaweed at his feet suggests that the figure is lying at a beach.
