One of my pet peeves is when you pick up a cold cup of water or iced tea and your coaster sticks to the bottom. Have you noticed this? Depending on materials, some coasters stick more than others. I've seen some get around this by making the coasters heavy, but that doesn't always work. They get picked up and put a nice dent in your table when they fall. they're also expensive. Foam coasters just stick and don't always come in nice colours. they fade and leak colour. Some have lame and tacky patterns, too. They're too light. This coaster solves all those problems. It's light and very cheap, simple yet modern design that can easily be customized. The pattern also prevents ANY cups from even lifting this coaster. Any colour or filament you could want, and little holes so you can put rubber feet or hot glue dots. The pattern has lots of flat edges, giving a nice finished print look. layer lines are small, and it's sturdy. I can go on, but you can find out for yourself. :)
And if you're feeling like more hexagons, check out the second version: World's Greatest Coaster V2!
I printed this with pretty decent layer height and around 25% infill. You can go lighter without any problems, buy for rigidity's sake 20-25% is fine. Depending on materials you can use this as a decent hot pad for hot pots and pans.
