As someone who tends to leave my traditional camera gear at home in an era of amazing smart phone photography, I often wish I had some way to prop up my phone for time lapses, long exposures and *ahem* selfies. That's where this comes in! Oh, and it also works as a desk stand for watching stuff.
The goal here was to have a phone stand the size of a credit card, and only 3mm thick, that could hold up my phone for such endeavours. Something I could print a bunch of, and a print I could carry in my wallet or stuck on my phone without a second thought. And so here we are!
This stand has inbuilt hinges despite being quite thin, so it prints assembled and ready to go. Just fold the sides up and in (the hinges have a stopping point at 115 degrees fro horizontal), and put your phone in either the vertical or angled slot.
And, you'll have noticed that I put a bunch of hexagons in there, too, just to make it cooler :P
Intended for easy printing! No support needed, all angles sensible. The tolerance of the hinge parts is fairly generous, and came out great on both my very precise and very imprecise test printers :)
