A good friend of my wife and I, Beth, is fighting aggressive cancer. Her husband Marc, after seeing the "Geared Heart, Hand Cranked Edition", asked my wife if I could make her an OSU (Oklahoma State University, her Alma Mater) colors version of the "Geared Heart, Hand Cranked Edition" that was easier for her to hold.
This version is for her, printed in OSU orange and black.
A static video of the prototype version is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4mJBISZZQ8&list=UUv_zm49u-RjnCJVwhUO-ecA.
This is the "Base.stl" version. There is also a "Base Tall.stl" version that doubles the height of the base for those needing an extending grip area.
The difference between this version and the previous is the base is now cylindrical, and the handle is now a wheel with an attached knob, making it easier to hold and turn for those with a weakened grip.
We hope she gets well soon.
Designed using Sketchup 8 and printed in PLA on a Makerbot Replicator 2 using Makerware 2.3.3.42.
Study "Assembly.skp"
Determine whether you wish to print "Base.stl", or "Base Tall.stl" ("Base Tall.stl" has a larger grip surface for those who need it), then print whichever you chose. Print remaining parts, all in the color of your choice.
Assemble the emmett's heart parts to "Heart Center.stl" according to his instructions. Use white lithium grease as he previously suggested to lubricate his gears.
Assemble the remaining parts according to "Assembly.skp", following the break in procedure described in the previous version.
If you have any assembly questions, feel free to post a comment.
We wish you the best, Beth, Godspeed.

would you be able to share the "Geared Heart Beths Hand Cranked Edition Emmetts Part" as separate parts so I am able to scale up the print.
