Reset switch for Lee-R's Anet A8 Main Board Cover
Reset switch for Lee-R's Anet A8 Main Board Cover

I made this reset switch to compliment Lee-R's excellent Anet A8 cover. The cover is great (in my opinion) because the holes allow easy mounting of optional extras, like Mosfet switches, etc, without having to re-print another cover.
This switch does NOT require the cover to be removed to install it. Is uses 'barbs/grippers' on the side of the barrel to grip around one of the holes in the cover. Printing just the barrel at 0.2 also allows extra grip as the layers are a little rougher (print the other parts at 0.1).
THE SPRING IS AN OPTIONAL EXTRA. The switch will happily work without it.
If you'd like less switch length, etc. the files are public on 'Onshape', so you can copy and modify it as you'd like. The link can be found here:-
PLA - Print the main barrel at 0.2, but I suggest that you print everything else at 0.1, so the thread has a chance!
The spring is an optional extra. It just gives the button more travel when you press it (although I'm working on a PLA spring). If using a spring, make sure it's quite a soft and loose spring.
Put the plunger in to the main barrel and work back and forth, in various positions, before fully assembling, so loosen them up. They should then move quite freely.
The barrel can be installed in to the cover at various angles, and the plunger can be installed at various 90 degree angles, so, between the two, you should find at least one position where the plunger will happily press the reset switch.
The button top isn't specifically needed either, but will make pressing the plunger much more comfortable.
You may find the threads in the button top and plunger aren't perfect, but they should still fit together very well.
