Sandstone stele, known as a Sati (or Suttee) stone, memorials to Indian widows found all over India. Acquired by Charles Stuart at Bhilsa and later in the India Museum, from where it was passed to the British Museum.

The memorial stela or satīstambha has an ogee-shaped top and abraded 14-line inscription across the bottom. An arm bent at right angles with uplifted hand is shown in low-relief towards with symbols of the sun and the moon and miniature pañcaliṅga-s (?). A separate compartment below shows the standing couple to whom the stele is dedicated.
