This is my entry to the 3D printable homeware design competition.
I have made a chair.
I am an Architect so I always have dreamt of having furniture that look like buildings!
So my entry is just that.
A single seater 'building'.
This design would be perfect for a big print because there is so much detail and would really showcase the capabilities of 3D printing and the huge 3D printer which is going to print it.
Although I am in Australia, I would be more than happy to pay for the pastage to get it here!!
I have made opening through the seat so that LED lights can be fitted and lit up at night.
I think it would look amazing, even if i say so myself.
I have triple checked the design does not need support and have design it carefully creating arches under roofs, overhangs etc.
I think it should be printed in light grey.
I just finished modelling it. I am at work doing a few renders of it as the 3D print has just started and will take about 24 hours (25 micron resolution) if all goes well for a print of 160mmx160mm.
So i hope i still have time to add photos of the finished product before the competition closes.
