Now you can have a Masterspool Refill even if you have a small bed. Print your own reel optimised for bed size 227 x 148mm. The reel comes in 4 separate pieces. Even better, the screw is a much improved design and will not get jammed.
Finally, a Masterspool for a small bed!
We scoured the internet for a Masterspool design which could be printed on a small bed. We found them, tried them and found them to be wanting. We discovered flimsy designs which talked a good game but simply failed to do the job. They broke or the filament un-ravelled.
Here is the solution:
4 pieces.
Designed for Flash Forge Creator with bed size - 227 x 148 mm
Estimated print time - 19 hours for all 4 pieces
Approximately 100m of filament

Reduce waste and cut costs by printing your own, re-useable spool and buying refill filament.
The 4 pieces will print out without any problems and are designed to screw together. As colour is not normally an issue for this kind of item, why not use up all your odds and ends of filament?
The refills are held together with re-useable cable-ties. Simply line the slots with the ties and undo them. Note, the diameter of the hole is 52.5mm.
When you need to change the filament on the Masterspool, simply re-tie the cables, un-screw the halves and lift off the filament.
Masterspool was originally designed by Richard at Reprap but we have substantially modified it.
You can find full instructions on our website about how easy it is to use Masterspool and how to change the the colour of the filament.
