Vase Mode is Great!: https://youtu.be/tba6KHk4qRk
Instead of buying this model, you can follow the video tutorial, and make it yourself, free!
By all means buy the download if you feel like buying me a coffee or you just don't want to make it yourself. But it's easy! The video tutorial shows the whole process using Tinkercad, the free, easy, online CAD package from Autocad.
So, what is this model?! It's a hexagonal twist box, but unlike the usual ones this is intended to be printed in vase mode! Why would you want to do that? Well, it means they're quick to print and use very little filament! But they're still twisty and awesome! You can hear more enthusiastic discussion about this in the Clockspring3D video entitled Vase Mode is Great!
While there's some care to be taken when printing vase mode shapes that fit together, the model should print just fine with a 0.4mm nozzle. Like the printing tips say, you can adjust the scale if necessary, and as long as it's done uniformly, it should be fine. If you have any trouble, either with the downloaded models or with one you've made using the tutorial, let me know in the comments and we'll work it out!
Now, this is obviously a vase mode print, so you'll need to slice it that way! If you've watched the tutorial video, or, even better, the Vase Mode is Great video, you'll be well aware that there's some trickiness involved with making vase mode prints fit together! So, a few notes:
* There are two lid models - one for 0.4mm nozzles and another for 1.0mm nozzles.
* The lid models can be resized if they're a little too tight or too loose - make sure to rescale uniformly, though!
