Batsignal (From movie: The Dark Knight Rises, 2012)

The model represents the Batsignal as seen in the original movie "The Dark Knight Rises" from 2012.
It has been modelled at a 1:8 scale approximately according to Batman height estimations, nevertheless it can probably be scaled up. Scaling it down will probably need severe post printing modifications.
If you like the model, please take a second to consider tiping me, just on the left side of your screen. Modelling and preparation for 3d printing took around 20 hours. Just the 3d printing itself took around 65 hours, and sanding, painting and weathering have taken countless hours of work, I'd say more than 100 easily. For preparing the files for Thingiverse, the instructions manual and the updated files just for you all, add a few dozens of hours more. Take a look again at the pictures and leave a comment about if it is worthy.
If you want a copy of the blueprint, just let me know by private message! It makes the perfect partner for the 3d printed Batsignal. And sorry, it is not free.
Several non-printed elements have been used:
1x MicroUSB female terminal.
1x 3.3V voltage regulator.
1x 1W LED + Aluminum heat sink.
1mm cable for wiring, aproximately 30 cm (12 inches).
12x M3 screws with different lenghts.
14x M3 nuts.
2x M6 bolts for attaching the frame to the base.
A ton of M2 screws with half round head and hex socket (approximattely 40-50)
1x 3 pin slide switch.
Transparent 400 micron acetate sheet.
All these components can be bought in several places as well as in Aliexpress with international shipping. The wiring scheme is sketched in the assembly instructions. As an alternative, the electric box was designed to fit a 3xAAA battery holder. The decision to use USB or batteries is up to you!
I will include more details as questions appear in the comments, otherwise I think there is not too much to say.
Thank you for passing by. Print, share and enjoy.
The first one to get a picture on a foggy night with the batsignal will get a token from me ;) It is really hard to find fog in the cities nowadays.
All pictures and manual are referred to the current STL files. I don't expect major post-printing modifications after the update. Pieces requiring support material have been uploaded with (CS) or without (NS) custom support. Choose whatever you prefer.
If you have a printing bed bigger than 20x20 cm, you should have any problem to print pieces A and B and EF in one piece. Otherwise, print the four A, four B, E and two F pieces separately and glue them together afterwards.
I printed completely in ABS but I see no reason why it should be printed in other materials.

I installed a 12v Led with a lipo battery, so that it is self supported with no charging plugs. Otherwise it is straight from the original files no complications.
