This is a Filament Spool Support Bracket specifically designed for this contest for attaching to an 2" x 1" (3/4' x 1 1/2") wooden board.
The item is made up of several pieces and assembles after printing. Each parts is printed horizontally to create and maintain the greatest part strength possible after printing.
This item is made up of four parts;
1. The "Main Spool Bracket" (the largest part)
2. The "Bracket Locking Pin" (the medium sized peg)
3. The "Spool Support Rod" (the large sized peg)
4. The "Support Rod Locking Pin" (the smallest sized peg)
The Bracket is made to a thickness that will allow it to slip between the outside walls of any standard filament spool to allow it to fit easily onto the described wooden shelf support without removing the filament spool(w) from the shelf.
Simply slip the "Main Spool Bracket" over the Wooden Support. Then insert the "Bracket Locking Pin" into the lower holes at the bottom of the "Main Support Bracket" and push until it is fully seated deep into the back of the part.
Next, insert the "Spool Support Rod" into the top front portion of the "Main Support Bracket" and be sure to push until it is fully seated deep into the back of the part.
Finally, insert the "Support Rod Locking Pin" into the top hole and be sure to push until it is fully seated deep into the back of the part. This will lock the "Spool Support Rod" into place.
The assembled "Filament Spool Support Bracket" will hold any filament spool and allow it to easily unwind and dispense plastic to any awaiting 3D Printer. The “Sppol Support Rod” is mounted at a 10 degree angle above horizontal to keep any filament spool up against the “Main Spool Bracket”!
When assembled on a wooden shelf support, the "Filament Spool Support Bracket" will slide left or right as needed to allow for accurate positioning.
To move the "Filament Spool Support Bracket", simply remove the "Bracket Locking Pin" from the bottom of the "Main Spool Bracket" and lift off the remaining assembly. Then slip the partial assembly back onto the wooden shelf support in a new location and replace the "Bracket Locking Pin" to secure it in this new location.
If any of the parts were to unfortunately break, simply reprint only the broken part rather than reprint all of the parts in the assembly, thereby saving plastic, time and money.
Each part was designed to be printed without supports to limit wasted time and money.
