7/22/18 UPDATE: Split the hangar model into 2 parts to be printable on 200x200 build area. It will likely hold together on its own, however glue is recommended.
7/21/18 UPDATE: Updated the hanger model to improve tolerance and attaching clearance. Test model not fits clearly over the 1x2 board.
7/16/18 UDPATE: Added a suspended hanger model for direclty mounting under flat surface. Currently using 2 of these and they work well.
This is a bearing spool holder designed to fit the Joel Telling's 3D Printable Shelf Bracket (https://gumroad.com/l/shelfbracket). A cantilevered design to project the spool from the the edge of the shelf to hang over printers for use. I wanted to use bearings to reduce the tensioned pull and jerk motions that can sometimes cause visible issues in extrusion when printing.
Spool hanger for active printing and use with 3d printed shelf brackets. I've printed the Direct screw in hanger version, and the roller mechanism works very well. I have updated a version to be printable on a 200x200 bed as well.
Use 2x 608zz bearing for smooth glide without hitches.
1X Barrel
2x Caps
1x Holder OR holder part 1 & 2 OR Suspended Hanger for Direct ceiling attatchment.
All can be printed without support.
Insert the 608zz bearings onto the cap models, then insert into the barrel. The barrel assembly will slide into the notches in the hanger model. NOTE: the ridge on the barrel goes to the outside of the full assembly to keep the spool from working its way off.
I printed 3 wall, .16 layer height, no supports, 10% honeycomb infill.
