Description
She is the lady of the swamp. She used to have a name. Back when the swamp was not a swamp, but rather a beautiful forest. The fay, dryads and nymphs used to live there in happy merriment. All animals had a name. Even the lady had a name. But then the swamp came. Slowly, over centuries, it swallowed the forest. The nymphs and the fay went away. The dryads though could not leave and were slowly corrupted with their trees. They turned into crooked, mad beings. The lady could not leave her holy groves and so she stayed. She too turned crooked and mad. She forgot her name, forgot the healing rays of the sun. All that remained was a dark, hazy memory.
Now, at night, you see her wandering through the bogs, pale greenish light floating around her. She is searching for the last remnants of her old self. Always looking for what she has lost.
Many have followed her searching light and have been swallowed by the swamp. When autum comes, the locals stay away from the swamp and warn every traveler not to come too close. Else, they might see the lady wandering the bogs and her enticing, searching light would draw them in. Then they will have to follow her into the swamp taking part in her unending search for her lost memories.
